Challenge
I was given only the information for this event and had to create a poster and invitation that would draw people in and also excite them for the event.
Solution
I wanted to put an emphasis on the different art genres which were going to be featured. I wanted to be able to show how a wide variety of design could come into one event. To do this, I decided to use icons, which each represent a different subject in design. I liked the idea of the icons directing the viewers eye to the information on the page. I made sure to find a way to categorize the shows so that the information wasn’t overwhelming to the viewers. Lastly, I chose to keep a simple color pallet, only using 3 colors. I wanted to use yellow because it calls attention to the poster and is an extremely bright color. Then I chose this navy blue for the background because it was calming compared the the yellow and worked really nicely with the yellow and white together.
